First Winter UcenIQ camp

Inspired by the activities of teachers from the Scientific community and in the event of STEM Discovery Week, UcenIQ, with the support of Mensa Serbia, organized its first Winter camp for children from the 1st to the 4th grade in two cycles (2 x 3 days): the first since 5th to 7th of February and the second one from 12th to 14th of February, in Belgrade.
The half-day program included workshops from the program:
“Learning is easy, because we know how to”
“We learn in the museum”
“STEAM” creative workshops (STEAM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics)

Especially interesting was the visit to the Museum of Nikola Tesla and interesting activities of learning about electricity. We learned: what is electricity; how to make an electric circuit; what materials conduct electricity, and which it does not; What is Tesla’s ball …

In order to complete the knowledge of electricity and wind energy as a renewable energy source that turns into electricity, we made the Lego Windmill and got acquainted with the basics of programming …

During the second week, we visited the Public Aquarium and the tropicarium where we met the living world of water communities, as well as some types of lizards, snakes and tarantula …

Learned to learn using different techniques and how to present our knowledge … We learned by doing and playing
