The 2nd Science and Sustainability Festival took place in Ioannina on the 20th of March 2019 and it was a great success. The Fest was a parallel event of the International Congress “Crisis in Contexts” of the International Society of Cultural-historical Activity Research ISCAR. The aim of the Fest was to showcase the actions that are taking place in our country for the sustainability with the assistance of STEM. The themes of the Fest was:
- Catapults
- Biodiversity
- Trash Art
- Robotics
- 17 Sustainable Development Goals
Our school participated in the theme 17 sustainable development goals in order for the students to get in touch with the goals. The main idea was to construct a sustainable city and community.
After searching for information on the internet we discussed all these data and we concluded our new knowledge in a mock-up model of a sustainable city which we presented at the Fest. A city which uses cheap, renewable energy and recycles. A city where the citizens prefer to move by bike, respect the pedestrians and people with special needs. Also, the citizens take care of the animals, both the wild life and the strays and of course they take care of the people in need, like the homeless.
We present in prezi step by step the construction of our model: https://prezi.com/2d_0_anilevk/sustainable-city/?utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=copy
