ABSTRACT:
First of all, in this learning scenario, I wanted my students to realize that water is not infinite. I have come up with activities that will allow them to understand that water resources in today’s world are being consumed quickly and that we need to take precautions in this regard. I care that my students realize that if existing water resources continue to be consumed at this rate, all countries of the world will experience water shortages in the near future. One of the main goals for me is that they also understand that we can protect water resources, especially with measures that we can take individually. In my course scenario, which I prepared for these purposes, I aimed to raise awareness as a priority.
I helped my students understand the problems of water scarcity in the future. We then discussed and listed the measures we could take in our immediate vicinity. Finally, by developing a project, we have produced solutions related to water conservation and prepared our models.
AIMS:
We expect our students to do them with the studies for project implementation:
- First, I aim to raise awareness of the problems of water scarcity that our world may face.
- I expect them to come up with solutions to a current and global life problem.
- Develop scientific thinking skills;
- Understanding the nature of Science and developing skills in using ICT tools;
- Learn that they have many options to solve the problems they see around them;
- Uses engineering design processes to solve a problem they encounter;
- Develop the ability to create alternative solutions to problems with simple materials and
- Understands the relationship between mathematics and science.
WORKING PROCESS
First, I asked students to find what was written by showing the emoji text I had prepared.
(Water is worth gold to the world. But fossil fuels cause global warming and cause water shortages)
At the beginning of the process, we watched animations and cartoons with students about water scarcity. So we created awareness. We talked about the videos we were watching. Then we brainstormed about the importance of nature and water with mentimeter activity. After raising awareness of the subject in the classroom, it is time to develop solutions for this problem. In this part, students were asked to communicate ideas through padlet and give constructive feedback to the ideas of others.
In the process, I talked to students about projects they could do to save water in their homes. I asked them to turn their work into a model. We even produced a project to collect rainwater and create a garden irrigation project. I also stated that they should take domestic water protection measures. If possible, I asked them to do work such as air conditioning and boiler water storage in different areas. Because of covid 19, we switched to fully online training. So the children uploaded their work to our padlet page as videos and photos.
Finally, I created working groups. I asked these groups to prepare a ceremonial program about the importance of water saving. Among these programs, we conducted the most positive feedback area throughout the school. Thus, we have expanded the importance of water outside our classroom.
ASSOCIATION WITH DIFFERENT DISCIPLINES:
We’re in the deepening phase of our script. I asked students to investigate how much 1 liter of waste oil pollutes clean water. After that, we created a table with the students. I asked them to record the average amount of water a family consumes in a week. Finally, we Associated it with mathematics. First, we calculated a family’s annual water consumption. I then asked them to calculate our county’s one-year water consumption using the data they had. So I linked my script to the field of mathematics.
ASSOCIATION WITH DIFFERENT DISCIPLINES:
At the deepening stage of our scenario, I asked students to investigate how much 1 liter of waste oil pollutes clean water. After that, I asked students to create a table and record the average amount of water they consume as a family on a daily basis. Finally, to clarify the mathematical relationship, I asked them to first calculate a family’s one-year water consumption and then our county’s one-year water consumption using the data they had. So I linked my script to the field of mathematics.
On the other hand, we have made a design and engineering application to prepare a project model related to water conservation. We even established a relationship with the grammar dsiplini to prepare a Friday program. Preparing posters, posters and flyers by using educational technologies such as the canva web2.0 tool related to the Friday ceremony program that children will prepare can be considered as the integration of technology into education.

EVALUATION:
We chose to use formative evaluation methods in this scenario. At each stage of the scenario, we gave oral and written feedback and evaluated the process. We evaluated these feedback, sometimes within a small group, sometimes as an entire class. In the final, we evaluated the ceremonial programs prepared by the groups by conducting a survey using the surveymonkey web2.0 tool.

Great work. Congratulations
THANKS FADİME TEACHER 🙂
