I was born on April 1, 1988 in Istanbul. I graduated from Istanbul Haliç University, industrial products department. I studied pedagogical formation at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. I have been a Technology and Design teacher at MEV College Private Büyükçekmece Schools since 2012.

Awareness Scenarios With Storyboard

As the students have learnt scenerio writing, they can also learn how to transfer the ideas visually, how to In Design&Technology lesson of 7th graders, students are asked to make an advertisement scenerio by involving visual narration. Apply these ideas in film, advertisement, series and animation production process, how to prepare the stages in cinematic circumstances via drawing a storyboard. The aim of creating storyboard drawings are to introduce the relation between the notion of design and creativity process in ideas in film, advertisement, series and animation. Within this scope, movie structure, composition, stage continuity and students’ visual literacy are developed. All students are able to advance in drawing skills as well as visualisation of the concepts and ideas by storyboard. All these advancements are actualized by the way of interactive narrations, arguments, presentation, video clips and workshops. Storyboard drawing and video application stages can be used by the secondary school teachers in order to enhance their creativity process which is in accordance with stated learning outcome.

Within in the compass of Scientix competition, students set up a project by departing from the ideas learnt through storyboard drawing techniques. The awareness has been raised by the storyboard drawings in the subject of “sustainability and citizenship” which is the theme of this year’s Scientix Project.

IN-CLASS APPLICATION
Scientix Project was carried out by Tuğçe PAKMAN, who is the teacher of Design&Technology lesson, with 53 students in four different 7th grade classes (7/A, 7/B, 7/C & 7/D) between 15 March 2021 and 15 April 2015.


Scientix Project competition was introduced to 7th grade students (12-13 years old) and the road map was determined with the students in online lessons.

  • In 80-minute online lesson between 15 and 19 March 2021, students point of views about“sustainability and citienship” were collected and detailed by brain storming.
    Students carried out a research about the topic, by the search engines and they shared all the findings between each other. Within this scope, the lesson was operated as following below:
    Students watched a video (linked as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2w6rxAogpw) called “ Emma Watson Is Telling Global Goals” allining with 2030 Sustainable Development Goals which were declared by The United Nations
    UNDP Turkey Website briefing and the following 17 target theme were evaluated
